BRANDON - Patricia Ruth Whitney, 87, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Mountain View Center in Rutland.

She was born in Brandon on May 27, 1926, the daughter of Harley and Cassie (Naylor) Fay, and received her education in Brandon.

She worked as a home care provider for the elderly, as well as private duty care for several area residents.

Ms. Whitney belonged to Brandon Congregational Church.

She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting and reading.

Survivors include five children, William Whitney of Rutland, James Whitney and Donna Smith of Brandon, Betty Jean Rainey of Jeffersonville and Lorraine Ruth Lafond of Williston; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by three siblings, Anna May Quesnel, and Paul and Stuart Fay.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 7, at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the funeral home and officiated by the Rev. Richard White, pastor of Brandon Congregational Church. A reception will follow at the Tamarack House Community Room of Park Village.

Burial will be at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery.
