Oscar enlisted in the Army in 1947 and served in company 1, 1st infantry, 6th infantry division in Taegu, Korea. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Daniels Marshall on August 30, 1949.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar O. and Lizzie Kendall, wife, Dorothy Kendall, infant grand daughter, Christy, son in law, Steve Smith, brother, Edward "Ted" Kendall, sisters, Katherine Kendall Olson, Alice Kendall Garst, Mabel Kendall, Mary Kendall Kiefer, Bertha Kendall.
He is survived by two sons, Bill Marshall and his wife Dee of Abilene, Ks, Don Kendall and his wife Terri of Baldwin City, Ks, three daughters, Henrietta Marshall Smith of Abilene, Ks, Hilda Kendall Nielander and her husband Frank of Belleville, Ks., Candie Kendall Akin and her husband Doug of Axtell, Ks, 21 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, one brother, Oliver Kendall, six sisters, Maude Kendall Smith, Cecil Kendall Fessenden, Stella Kendall Waite, Dororthy Kendall Reeder, Margaret Kendall Reeves, Vona Kendall Dotson.
Cremation was chosen.
Memorials services will be held at Eleven AM, Saturday, May 11, 2013, Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Ks.
Inurnment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Ks.
