MADISONVILLE, Ky (3/14/14) — Annette Whitfield Dixon, 78, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at Hillside Villa in Madisonville.

She was born February 15, 1936 in Chicago, IL to the late Roy Whitfield and Rita Whitfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lyndal Dixon, a son, Joseph Dixon and a sister Loretta Grounds.

Mrs. Dixon was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Mortons Gap, KY. She loved playing the piano and entertaining people.

She is survived by her son, Reed (Suzie) Dixon of Mortons Gap; one sister, Cynthia (Leon) Garrett of White Plains, KY; granddaughters, Tessa (Joey) Oglesby of Mortons Gap, Michelle (Bryan) Garst of Madisonville, Courtney Dixon of Madisonville and Lauren Dixon of Madisonville; great grandchildren, Josie Oglesby of Mortons Gap and Gage Garst of Madisonville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 17, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap.

Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 PM Sunday and after 12:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
