Joseph Patrick Moran, 57, of Big Cabin, died Monday, Feb. 14, 1994, at Oral Roberts Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa after a short illness.

He was born Feb. 18, 1936 in Chicago, Ill., to Patrick and Goldie (Cornwell) Moran. He had worked at the AC-1 State Hospital in Spokane, Wash., before moving to Oklahoma.

He served in the U. S. Air Force and married Charlotte Brown on June 18, 1991, in Coeur d' alene, Idaho.

Survivors include: his wife, Charlotte, of the home in Big Cabin; three sons, Rick Moran of Portland, Ore., and Tim Moran and Darran Moran, both of Spokane, Wash.; five daughters, Stephanie Moran, Norma Moran, Joyce Moran, and Connie Moran, all of Spokane, Wash., and Lorrie Johnson of Portland, Ore.

Also, one brother, Albert Drewes of Three Rivers, Mich.; three sisters, Norma Elliott, of Oswego, Kan., Jo Ann Coverdell of Locust Grove, and Anellia Barker of Big Cabin; and six grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was one daughter, Tammy, one brother, Robert, and one sister, Betty.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at the First Christian Church of Chetopa. Officiating will be Vernal Johnson, minister. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery near Chetopa. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch.

Pallbearers are Bob Boyd, Fred Johnson, Frank James, Raymond Kerr, Clarence Faubiion, and Bill Blackledge. Arrangements are by Thomas Funeral Home of Welch.

Mr. Moran, who died Monday, moved to Oklahoma from Spokane in October. He was born in Chicago.

He served in the Air Force and was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. He was a bus driver for the Spokane Transit Authority for 18 years.
