Joe met the love of his life Peggy in 1951 and they later married in 1952. Joe was a plumber for Husky plumbing on Warwick Blvd. in Newport news for nearly 20 years before health problems sidelined him in 1986, he loved being outdoors and tried to enjoy retirement under the shade of his favorite tree until a few months before he passed on.
