J.D. Demastus, 80, died Thursday, April 3, 2014. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. today at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Rock Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. He was the son of the late Eddie and Susie Canups Demastus.

Funeral services for J. D. Demastus were Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Lawrence Funeral Home with O. D. Bowling and Denny Bowling officiating.

Burial was in Rock Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Demastus died Thursday, April 3, at Medical West in Bessemer.

He was born Aug. 2, 1933, in Lawrence County to Eddie Demastus and Susie Canups Demastus.

He attended Midway Church of Christ and was a farmer.

Survivors include one brother, Troy Demastus of Decatur; and three sisters, Lillian Suggs of Hartselle, Magdalene Scott of Russellville and Kathleen Hardin of Birmingham.
