"Earl D. Cox, 72, of 25 E. Rosewood av., died February 3. Born in Bloomington Springs, Tenn., he had lived in Akron for 45 years. He had retired in 1970 after 20 years service at the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. He was a member of the South Akron Eagles, and attended Akron Baptist Temple. He served on the International Policy Committee and was a charter member of Local No. 7 of the United Rubber, Cork, Linoleum and Plastic Workers of America. He was also union representative for Firestone Local No. 7. He is survived by sons, Howard C. Cox of Akron, O., and Roy Edward Cox of Uniontown, O.; sister, Mrs. Henry (Eva) Brindley of Detroit, Mich.; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Schermesser Funeral Home, The Dr. Charles F. Billing-ton officiating. Interment East Liberty Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m."
