Hubert Preston "Toy" Darby, 77, died Wednesday, June 22, 1994, of a heart attack at South Panola Community Hospital. Services were Thursday, June 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Dickens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Wages officiating. Internment was at Batesville Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Darby was born September 7, 1916, in Panola County to the late Roland R. and Emma Busby Darby. He was retired from the Mississippi State Highway Department and was a farmer. He was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Little Darby of Batesville, three sisters, Gertrude Darby Jaudon, Pauline Darby Best, and Lillian Darby Williams, all of Batesville; and one brother, Newell T. Darby of Batesville.
