Grace was born 4/14/1927 to Alma “Marie” and Ralph Petty. Grace attended GarfieldHigh School, graduating in 1945. She passed at DavisGardens, Tuesday, 3/25/14.

Grace is survived by three daughters, Barbara Alford, Carol Ellis, and Connie (Tim) Steigmeyer; 7 grandchildren, Anna (Kevin) Richards, David (Jana) Page, Ramsey (Amanda) Ellis, Abby (Brad) Mason, Scott Steigmeyer, Leslie Steigmeyer, and Blaine (Kelly) Barrett. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, Devin and Raygann Richards; Danica and Eli Page; Ava and Evan Ellis; Hunter and Harper Mason; Bryson Jenkins; Ashley, Dustin, and Madison Barrett. She also leaves behind brother John (Ann) Fulk and sister Linnea Fulk; and many special cousins, nieces, nephews, and long-term friends. She leaves behind her precious Susie, her Yorkie. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents who raised her, Grace and Oren Petty; brothers Jim Fulk, Clifford Fulk, and infant Ralph Petty; ex-husband and friend Ervin Elliott; and numerous other very special relatives.

Grace worked at American Can/Midland Glass in Terre Haute, Federal Glass in Chicago, JJ Tourek in Elk Grove Village, IL, Count-on-Us in Terre Haute, and lastly at Washington School as the “lunch lady” retiring in 2004. Grace was as avid reader, counted cross-stitcher, and quilter.

As per her request, there will be no visitation or funeral, and DeBaun Funeral Homes & Crematory will handle her cremation. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date. Please watch the paper for the invitation.
