Michael Nixon, 47, Portland, died Thursday at his home.
Born in Portland to Cleatus and Helen (Felix) Nixon, he was a 1984 graduate of Jay County High School and a graduate of the University of Northern Ohio
He married Christina Kennedy on Mar. 22, 2014, and she survives.
The owner of Nixon's Automotive, Engineering and Snow Removal of Portland, he had also been an instructor for Ivy Tech in Muncie.
He was Great Lakes Region director and technical adviser coordinator for Pontiac-Oakland Club International and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Portland.
A Pontiac GTO enthusiast and restorer, he was an online forum moderator at www.performanceyears.com and was the subject of a recent article on the website of Hemmings Motor News.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Tray Nixon,
Sydney Nixon and Adam Nixon, all of Portland; five stepdaughters, Jessica Cook (husbaN: Kyle), Miranda Harris, Hannah Harris, Gwynth Harris and Cerreldwen Harris, all of Portland; and several cousin.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland with Pastor Mike Harris officiating.
Burial will be in Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
Visitation is noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
