MAXINE VALENTINE TURNER, 70, of Jena, Florida passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014.

Mrs. Turner was born in Carbur, Florida, on September 24, 1943, to James and Annie Mae Valentine. She drove a bus for the Dixie and Taylor County School systems. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley music and reading. Her favorite books were Louis L'amour westerns. She was a member of Jena Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She is survived by sons, Alton "Buddy" (Phyllis) Turner, Jr. of Jena, Florida and Charlie Brown Turner, of Jena, Florida; daughters, Marlene Murel (Alec) Harrod, of Salem, Florida and Lynn Tumlin, of Jena, Florida; brothers, James Valentine and Ray Valentine, both of Jena, Florida and Larry Valentine, of Perry, Florida; 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Annie Mae Valentine; and brother, Ronnie Valentine.

Funeral services will be ehld at the Jena Pentecostal Holiness Church on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 2:00 pm with Bro. Wayne Philmon and Rev. Randy Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home between the hours of 5 and 7 pm.
