Fort Bend Herald, April 6, 2014:

A funeral mass for Johnnie J. Macha, 83, of Rosenberg, will held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2014 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Father William D. Bartniski officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg.

Johnnie was born April 10, 1930 in Wallis to Anton Macha and Louise (Schodek) Macha. He served our country proudly in the U. S. Army. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a life member of American Legion Post #350 in Needville. Hunting, fishing, tinkering around in the garage and spending time outdoors on the farm in Hallettsville were among his favorite past times. Known as "Popo" by his grandchildren, he was devoted to spending time watching his grandsons play baseball, attending his granddaughters dance recitals and supporting their every endeavor. He passed away April 3, 2014 in Richmond.

Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Louise Macha and his brothers, Leonard, August, Freddie and Adolph Macha.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Ella Wleczyk Macha; sons, Gary Macha and Terry Macha; brother, Frank Macha; sister-in-laws, Sarah Macha and Dolores Macha; grandchildren, Tyler John Macha, Travis Charles Macha and Makaylah Elizabeth Macha; extended in-laws, Mae Startz and husband, Leonard and AJ Wleczyk and wife, Ester; along with other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Johnnie to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1416 George, Rosenberg, Texas, 77471 or to American Legion Post #350, P. O. Box 10, Attention: Wesley Oberhoff, Needville, Texas 77461.
