"Mrs. D. R. Criswell, 85, died in a local hospital shortly before noon today after two weeks of illness.

Mrs. Criswell was born in 1867 in Charleston, Miss., and moved to Milam County at the age of seven with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Pollock. She had lived at Buckholts for the past 25 years. The mother of Cecil Criswell, a Milam County cotton buyer, her father had been a Confederate soldier in the Civil War.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p. m. Friday at the Buckholts Baptist Church, Rev. Horace Whitesides officiating, assisted by Rev. Perry Ellis. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery.

Survivors include three sons, Cecil Criswell of Buckholts, Delmar Criswell of Abilene, and T. F. Criswell of Calvert; four daughters, Mrs. W.L. English of Moran, Mrs. George Goree of Dallas, Mrs. C. B. Lassiter of El Paso, and Mrs. F. N. Craven of Lubbock; 17 grand-children and 16 great-grandchildren."
