Roxie was the daughter of Frank and Alice Goldson. The 1900 census shows that he was born in Missouri, as were his parents, but this is wrong. He was born in Louisiana 1841, and Alice was born there in 1864. They married in 1881. Their other children and their ages in 1900 were Corine, 20; Mary, 20; and Daniel, 17. There were two grandchildren Blanche, 2; and Hoyt, 1.

Frank Goldson proved patent on 80 acres of land in Section 3 of McKinley Township (014N-003E) in March of 1902. His name is engraved on Plaque C-60 in the African-American Civil War Memorial in Washington D.C., showing that he fought with Co. C, 47th Regiment, Louisiana Colored Infantry.

There are two other grave stones at this burial site, but they are field stones and show no markings. They probably belong to Roxie's parents. Anyone who knows about this family is kindly requested to contact the creator of this site (Wayne, below) or the Lincoln County Historical Society in Chandler.

Note added 7 Jul 2020:
Frank Goldson's voluminous pension records have recently been retrieved from the National Archives. Most of them can be viewed at Ancestry.com on Frank's page of the "Goldson Family Tree."
