Ruth was born April 13, 1924, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Arthur and Hattie (Radtke) Anderson. She graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, with the class of 1942. Ruth served her country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She then graduated from the UW Madison with a degree in Mathematics in 1950. On May 2, 1953 she married Francis Lodel in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2009. Ruth was employed at Hamilton Mfg. retiring March 31, 1985. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ruth was a past secretary of the golf league at Fox Hills, a member of the Two Rivers Senior Center, an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, and playing bingo at the nursing home, and crossword puzzles. She was an avid golfer, Packers and Badger fan.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Robert (Maxine Roberts) Lodel, Sheboygan; Daniel Lodel, Madison; two brothers: James Anderson, Two Rivers; Jerome Anderson, Green Bay; four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Dorothy and John Cigler, Manitowoc; Lois and Richard Juul, Oconomowoc; Arlene Fairley, West Virginia; and Gail Stoer, Two Rivers.
She was preceded in death by one brother: David Anderson.
Private family services will be held at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service is Rev. David Arndt with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Full military honors will be accorded by the Two Rivers V.F.W. and American Legion.
