Jack L. Brown, 60, of Smiths Grove died at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 14, 2000, at The Medical Center.
The Fidelity, Ill., native was a General Motors employee, a benefits representative for United Auto Workers, a farmer and a Baptist. He was a son of Lester Brown and Wilmeth Carr Brown of Wilsonville, Ill., who survive.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Hayes Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Other survivors include his wife, Martha Lowe Brown; a son, Jeff Brown of Alton, Ill.; two daughters, Jacqueline "J.R." Brown of Smiths Grove and Lisa Bertels of Bunker Hill, Ill.; three brothers, Alfred Brown of Staunton, Ill., Robert Brown of Lincoln, Neb., and John Brown of Gillespie, Ill.; six sisters, Janney Mallow and Irene Nessell, both of Litchfield, Ill., Janet Brown of Gillespie, Mary Alini of Osbey, Ill., Ruth Graham of Joliet, Ill., and Elaine Harvil of Wilsonville, Ill.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
