George Carroll Minnix, 71, died Jan 30, 2005. Services and burial at Rosemound Cemetery.

George was born in Waco TX Aug 26, 1933 to Luther and Hattie (Bishop) Minnix.

He joined the U.S. Navy Oct 9, 1951 and served on the USS Ticondera, USS Eversole, USS the Sullivans, and was stationed at the U.S. naval Recsta in Brooklyn N.Y. He was recognized for his services with the Korean Service Medals (2 stars), China Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal before being honorable discharged May 17, 1955. He was a member of Masons Herring Lodge No 1224 A.F. & A.M. in Waco. George was an avid reader, historian, chef and loving father that loved to walk, and was employed with William Cameron Wholesale CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include; sons, John MInnix (Jenny) of Crawford TX and Patrick MInnix of Waco; daughter, Margaret Dotson (Keith) of Tennessee Colony TX; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; brothers, Lawrence Minnix of Daly City CA, Freddy Minnix and Billy MInnix both of Waco TX; sisters, Elizabeth Frazier of Lacy Lakeview TX and Patsy Blount of Houston TX, many nieces and nephews.
