Alice Elmira Spangler, 93, widow of Noah Spangler, died at 10:30 a.m. today at her home, 135 South Potomac Street. She had been In failing health for the last two years and had been bedfast since December 1, 1949. She was born in Hamilton Township, the daughter of William and Sarah (Diehl) Hafer. After her marriage in 1876, she moved to Chambersburg and for the last 60 years she lived in Waynesboro.She was a charter member of the Otterbein U. B. Church and was active in all phases of church activities. Mr. Spangler died in July 1929.
Surviving are these children: Mrs. Elsie Welker, W. O. Spangler, Sr., Mrs. Maurice Snyder, Mrs. James Lizer, F. K. Spangler and Mrs. J. W. Reeves, all of Waynesboro; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; two brothers, Austin Hafer and B. C. Hafer, both of Chambersburg.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday from the OtterbeIn U. B. Church in charge of the Revs. A. E. Martin and N. W. Brechbiel. Burial will be made in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chambersburg. Friends may call from 7 until 9 o'clock Sunday evening and at the church one hour prior to the service.
