Susannah was one of about seven children born to Benjamin Lawrence and Urath Randall (Owings) Lawrence. In 1786 she was married in Queen Caroline Parish, MD to Edward Dorsey. They lived in Maryland until about 1800, when they moved to Kentucky about the same time as did Susannah's parents. They were parents of about nine children, the last two of whom were born in Kentucky. Edward died in 1804, and in 1812 Susannah married John Williamson, who owned thousands of acres in the area. They had a young daughter, Susannah, who died in 1814. Another child buried in the Williamson Cemetery, Ann Williamson, 1817-1821, may have also been their daughter.
