Gloria Elizabeth Coghlan Wilkinson was a good girl. She always tried to do what was right. She was the oldest of eleven children of the late James Coghlan and Ruby Edna Terry Coghlan.

She was born in Brookhaven MS, but moved shortly afterwards to Woodville MS. She graduated from Woodville High School, class of 1948. She tied with a fellow male classmate for the highest GPA, they made him the Valedictorian and her the Salutatorian. Gloria was one of the first female to go the State Capital for a week to see how the Government works; only a dozen kids in the State got invited to go. She also found time to be a Cheerleader for the football team.

She met Robert Wilkinson on New Year Eve of 1952, as his brother WH had set them up on a blind date. They married in 1953 in TN were Bob was stationed with the Navy. For the next 16 years they moved every few years to: Tennessee twice, California, Hawaii, New Mexico, Florida twice and South Carolina. They had three blond girls: Jo Lynn Wilkinson Hollomon, Norma Wilkinson and Robin Wilkinson. This marriage was a true love affair.

Gloria was always a Room Mother for one of her girls. She was known for her cake decorating skills and her cute cupcakes. One time she volunteered for Cookie mother for Robin's Scout troop. We had small paths to get through the house until the cookies were sold. Needless to say Robin sold the most cookies that year.

She truly believed that "Nothing said love like a Roast in the oven." She insisted on family night every Sunday night where she would serve a roast and all the fixings. Her family had a Sunday family night dinner the last night of her life.

When Bob retired from the Navy, Gloria went back out into the work force and started college about the same time. She graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park FL with a degree in Accounting. She passed the CPA exam and worked for Katz, Daitzman and Gordon CPA's for over 25 years.
When she retired from the firm she still did taxes until her passing and kept her CPA designation current. She was the Club Treasurer for the Retired Officers Wives Club of Central Florida.

Along with her husband of 57 years, she is predeceased by her siblings; Donald Coghlan, Ruthie Elaine "Pat" Coghlan Disotell, Terry Jack Coghlan, Peggy Coghlan , Ollie "Sue" Coghlan Perry, Gregg Coghlan. Her surviring siblings are Jimmie Gay Coghlan Thrash, James Coghlan, Stephen "Barry" Coghlan, and John Mark Coghlan.
