Phyllis A. Beck, 83, of Forsyth (formerly of Cedar Rapids, IA) passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at her home. She was born April 3, 1929 in West Chester, Iowa, to Carl Harry and Sadie (Chorpening) Anderson. Phyllis graduated from Brighton High School, Brighton, Iowa.

Phyllis married Milo Zeck in the late forties, and to this union two daughters were born; Sherri L. Mahoney and Sandra L. Thompson. She was a legal secretary for several years, co-owner with her first husband, Milo, of Pine Inn Truck & Restaurant, Cedar Rapids, IA, and worked for Iowa-Illinois Gas & Electric for 15 years.

Phyllis married Arthur Beck, December 24, 1970 and to this union Art brought two sons, Roger Beck and Doug Beck. They moved to Forsyth from Cedar Rapids, IA in May of 1985, where she worked with her husband Art for Mid-Western Advertising and also owned the Ozark Chuck Wagon with her husband. She was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church and a member of the Red Hatters Society.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Beck, who now resides in assisted living in Shellsburg, IA; two daughters, Sherri L. Mahoney, of Cedar Rapids, IA and Sandra L. (Frank) Thompson, of Forsyth; two stepsons, Roger (Sandy) Beck, of Shellsburg, IA and Doug Beck, proceeded in death; one brother, Richard (Nancy) Anderson of Ottumwa, IA; grandson, Shawn Bird, of Cedar Rapids, IA; a very special nephew, Todd (Kelly) Anderson, of Newhall, IA; nephew, Tony (Lori) Anderson, of Kahoka, MO; niece, Tonya (Jerry) Findley, of Lovilia, IA; and niece, Shawna Simmons, of Chicago, IL.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11, 2012 at 10:00 am, at Forsyth Whelchel Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozarks Memorial Park, Branson, MO. Visitation is Thursday, May 10, 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral chapel.

Memorials can be made to Mercy Hospice.
