Donald Shaffer was born on July 26, 1920 in Wabash Co, Indiana to Landy R. and Cora Henemyer Shaffer. He Married Claudine Bauer on January 25, 1947 and she passed away November 10, 1990.

Mr. Shaffer worked at Dana Weatherhead in Columbia City, IN. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, Huntington, IN. He served in the United States Army during World War II, VFW #2689 Huntington, IN, Disabled Veterans and American Legion #160, Roanoke, IN.

Survivors include: 2 Sons: Daniel (Jackie) Shaffer, Huntington, IN and Richard E.(Vickie) Shaffer, Huntington, IN 1 Sister: Genevieve Kneller, Huntington, IN. 6 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: 3 Brothers: Harry Shaffer,Joseph Shaffer, and Jerry Shaffer and 4 Sisters: Mae Hosler, Ruby Truitt, Janice Betten and Fae Freed.

Calling will be Friday, April 4, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN with recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 PM.

Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers preferred memorials are to: SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Huntington Right to Life or Donor's Choice all in care of the funeral home.

McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN is in charge of arrangements.
