Ronald Eugene Claypool, 65, of Danville, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at his home.

He was born on April 6, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to Richard Lawrence and Ruth Mae Phillips Claypool Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Claypool Jr.; a brother-in-law, Charles Coon I and a nephew, Richard Edward Coon.

Surviving are his sister, Ruby Coon; four nephews, Steven Coon, Charles Coon II, John Coon and Ryan Claypool; one niece, Jennifer Claypool; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Amanda, Dustin, Katie, Savanna, Sean, Neil and Leland and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Hailie, Harley, Damien, Michael, Brantley and Casper Edward.

He worked at Bell Helmets in the warehouse and at Berkley Davis.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and a gathering of family and friends will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St. in Danville.

Ronald was born on April 6, 1948, in Detroit, Mich., to Richard Lawrence and Ruth Mae (Phillips) Claypool Sr.

He attended school in both Detroit and Danville. Throughout the years, Ronald worked at Bell Helmets in the warehouse and at Berkley Davis. Ronald enjoyed going out to eat, and spending time with his great-nephew Leland, playing the Wii, watching television and playing outside.

Ronald leaves behind his sister, Ruby Coon; and four nephews, Steven Coon, Charles Coon II, John Coon and Ryan Claypool; one niece, Jennifer Claypool; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Amanda, Dustin, Katie, Savanna, Sean, Neil and Leland; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Hailie, Harley, Damien, Michael, Brantley and Casper Edward.
