Maurice E. Wooten, 82, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare in Madisonville.

He was born on March 30, 1932 in Providence, KY to the late Irene and Jasper Earl Wooten. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was formerly employed as director of labor relations with P&M Coal Company and was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, John C. Collins and Coleman Wooten; and his granddaughter, Julia Elizabeth Wooten.

He is survived by his sons, Marty G. Wooten of Olympia, WA, Terrence S. Wooten and Timothy (Lisa) Wooten both of Madisonville; his daughters, Cindy R. Wooten of Springtown, TX and Mitzi (Jarrod) Arnold of Madisonville; his brothers, Jackie Collins of Madisonville and Darrell Collins of Dawson Springs, KY; his sisters, Linda Chiangi and Vicki McGuire both of Dawson Springs; his grandsons, Zachary Arnold and Jacob Arnold; his granddaughters, Mallory Moore, Sarah Morehead and Lauren Wooten; his great-grandsons, Jace Arnold and Julian Moore; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. Military honors will be conducted graveside by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.
