He was the son of Marvin Eugene Rouse and Nancy Michael Rouse of Salisbury, NC. Mike was a 1973 graduate of South Rowan High School.
Mike is best known for working in his own business, "Mike's Body Shop" in the Rimertown community of Cabarrus County for over thirty years. Prior to that time, he worked for Grove Construction, China Grove, NC. He held his church membership at Shadybrook Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC.
He was a devoted Dale Earnhardt fan. Mike was a master craftsman enjoying many building and remodeling projects. He enjoyed racing, fishing, going to the beach, and spending time with his family. Mike was also a train enthusiast and enjoyed participating in many car "cruise- in's."
Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife of 38 years, Debbie Hallford Rouse; two daughters, Crystal Michelle Rouse of Huntersville, NC and Amber Kathrine Rouse of Kannapolis, NC; two sisters, Mary Ann Rouse Sonier & husband, Jeffrey of Charlotte, NC and Sharon Rouse of Statesville, NC; a niece, Natalie Virginia Sonier; a nephew, Zachary Adam McLain; and a special aunt, Arletta Kluttz of China Grove , NC.
