Services for Oren I. Monsen, 87, of Tracy will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31st at the Tracy Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Tracy City Cemetery. Visitation at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy will be Thursday from 2:30 to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday one hour prior to services at the church.
Mr. Monsen died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1992 at the Tracy Nursing Home.
He was born on May 22, 1904, in Bode, Iowa, to Olai and Margaret (Enger) Monsen. He lived in Bode until 1913, when he and his parents moved to a farm near Milroy.
He received his schooling at the Milroy Public School. In 1920, he moved to a farm near Tracy.
Oren and Ethela Pixler were married on Aug. 19, 1928, at her parents' home near Amiret. The couple farmed near Amiret for three years. He later managed a gas station in St. Peter. In 1935, he resumed farming near Amiret until 1938, when he retired and moved into Tracy. He later worked as a supervisor for the ASC Office in Marshall.
Oren was a member of the Tracy Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
