Bernard E. Erickson, 86, Indianapolis, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003. He was born July 16, 1917, in Camby, MN. His parents were Hans and Cecelia (Pelstring) Erickson. He married Betty Jean Campton. She preceded him in death on Jan. 26, 2000. Survivors include three sons, Ronald D., James R., and John E. Erickson; four daughters, Marcia Ann Shumaker, Jennifer Lynn Erickson, Michelle Lee Willis, and Denise Kay Kurker; a brother, Richard Erickson; two sisters, Mary Walker and Betty Goudy; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was employed 28 years by Allison Division of General Motors as a Senior Engineer of Engine Controls, Plant 8. He was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church and VFW, Broad Ripple. Mr. Erickson was an Army veteran of World War II. A service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, St. Rd. 135 Chapel. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 at the funeral home. Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
