Addie Mae was born Jan. 19, 1911 and died March 31, 2014 at her residence.

A memorial service for Addie Mae Spain Kirkland will be held at O'Quinn Baptist Church, with Bro. Steve Cowart and Bro. Keith Woolf officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Addie Mae was born January 19, 1911 to Charlie Milton Spain and Maud Livingston Sage Spain in Benford, Polk County, Texas. She passed away peacefully Monday, March 31, 2014 at the age of 103.

She met the love of her life, W. A. (Bill) Kirkland in Camp Melba outside Colmesneil, Texas and they were married July 7, 1929. They moved to Lufkin soon after and lived there until 1952 when they moved to the Central Community. She was always active in her church, Lufkin's First Baptist Church and then O'Quinn Baptist Church. The doors did not open without her presence as long as she was able. She has left a legacy of love to her family and an example of the Christian woman who never found fault with others and always cherished and loved her family and friends.

Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W. A. Kirkland; sister, Thelma Stovall; 2 brothers, Bill and Charlie Spain; and many other family members.

Left to cherish her memory are:
* her daughter and son-in-law, June and Jim Billingsley
* son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Louise Kirkland
* grandchildren, Jim Sharp and wife Kim, Amber Sharp, Adam Sharp and wife Toni, Tina Bryan and husband Willie, Tiffany Kirkland
* great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Caleb, and Brandon Sharp, Breanna, Holly and Bradley Bryan
* sisters-in-law, Ivaline Parrott and husband Delbert, and Margie Kirkland
* brother-in-law, Burl Kirkland and wife Mary Ann of Lufkin
* step-granddaughter, Rhonda Hoffpauier
* step-great grandsons, Zach Dillahunty, Dustin Holder, Audie and Mason Wood
* step-great granddaughters, Brandy McGraw, Shelby Guajardo, Rikki Hinson
* step-great-great grandchildren, Collin McGraw, Novalee Wood, Trinidy Guajardo and Brock Hinson
* and other beloved family members
