Mrs. Poppleton was born Jan. 1, 1885, in Council Grove, Kan. She moved with her family to Tacoma in 1889 and then in 1894 to Portland, where she died Saturday.
Active in a variety of civic activities, Mrs. Poppleton had been a Girl Scout leader, the leader of the music club at the Chinese Presbyterian Church, and a club leader at Friendly House.
Mrs. Poppleton was a charter member of the Geological Society of the Oregon Country; member and past governor of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in Oregon; a member of the Mental Health Association, the World Affairs Council of Oregon and the Oregon United Nations Association.
Surviving are a daughter, Grace, of Portland; and a brother, Warren Lincoln, of Shelton, Wash.
