Betty Lou Ahlfield, 71, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at a local medical center. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South. Burial will be in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.

Mrs. Ahlfield was born March 7, 1930 in Comanche County. She moved to Abilene from Houston in 1970. She married Paul Dean Ahlfield in Abilene April 30, 1976.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Dean Ahlfield of Abilene; a son, Bill W. Bingham of Houston; a daughter, Barbara J. Young of Houston; a brother, Kenneth R. Taylor of Abilene; two sisters, Ida Mae Breeden of Clyde and Veda Ruth Wallace of Sweetwater; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 5701 Hwy 277 South.
