Penny is survived by her mother, Patricia Ovnicek; daughters, Tina (Wayne)Kienbaum and Lisa (Scott) Willms; brothers, Garry (Chris) Ovnicek and Larry (Bonnie) Ovnicek; sister, Bonnie (Rich) Pilgrim; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three stepchildren, their spouses and children; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Penny was preceded in death by her father, Bill Ovnicek; grandparents, Martin and Johanna Ovnicek and Sidney Albano.

Penny graduated from Central Valley High School, worked at Weisfield Jewelers for several years, then Horizon Credit Union for many more years until being diagnosed with Leukemia. Penny fought the cancer for six years and beat it, but was forced to retire.

Penny will be missed by many friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 304 S. Adams Rd., Spokane Valley, WA, on November 17, 2010, at 11:00 AM. Donations may be made to The Max Leukemia Foundation, 110 W. Dayton, Suite 205, Edmonds, WA 98020.
