Bethania McGhee Evans, age 97, of Caryville passed away on Monday, March 31st, 2014. She was a member of Lake View Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her family, loved going to church when she was able, going fishing with her grandchildren when she could, quilting in her spare time, and singing.

She was preceded in death by her parents Burchfield & Maggie (Lowe) McGhee; husband Lacy Evans; brothers Sampson, Shirley, Ewell, Kurbie, Erby, and Raymond McGhee; and sisters Myrtle Douglas and Lonia Guy.

She is survived by her sons Leonard Evans & wife Sarah (deceased) of Caryville and Marvin Evans & wife Robin of Jacksboro; daughters Mildred Hatmaker & husband Bill (deceased) of Caryville, Frankie Adkins & husband Bob (deceased) of LaFollette, Evelyn Yancey & husband Don of Walkersville, MD, and JoAnn Leach & husband Wayne of LaFollette; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives & friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 at Lakeview Baptist Church with funeral service to follow with Rev. Roger Stanley officiating. Interment with be at 11:00 am on Friday, April 4th, 2014 at Campbell Memorial Gardens. Martin Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette is in charge of these arrangements.
