Mrs Sabina Brown
Funeral services for Mrs. Sabina Alice Brown were held on Tuesday, October 10, at the Dunton Funeral chapel at 1:30 and at the Crow River church at 2:30, with Rev. Munson of the Methodist church officiating.
Songs sung were those requested by Mrs. Brown and were sun by Mrs. Milo Farnum and Mrs Kannenberg of Paynesville, with Miss Ramona Stinton and Mrs. Phillip Behr at the piano. The selections were "Til We Meet Again", "I'll Meet Him Face to Face" "Beautiful Island of Somewhere", "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus".
Burial was in Burr Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Jebb, Melvin Jebb, Oscar Olson, Edward Olson, Andrew Peterson and Albert Kadelbach.
There were many beautiful floral tributes.
Those from a distance in attendance at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Hubbard, John Hamon, Mrs. Robert LaValle and Mrs. Marnon Moll of St. Paul and Miss Lorraine Gaspar of Minneapolis.
Mrs. Brown passed away at the St. Cloud hospital on Oct. 7, following an illness of a year's duration.
Sabina Alice Hamon was born November 22, 1874 in McGrifin [sic, Magoffin} county Kentucky. She came to Minnesota with her parents at the age of four years and resided on a farm south of Lake Koronis. In 1893 she was married to John G. Brown and they resided on his farm in Union Grove township until his death in 1928. Mrs. Brown continued to reside on the farm until 1938, at which time she moved to her cottage on Lake Koronis, where she resided until last fall, at which time she underwent an operation. She then lived with her daughters until two weeks prior to her passing, when she was taken to St. Cloud hospital, where her death occurred. She was a member of the Crow River Ladies Aid.
Surviving are the following children: Roy Brown of Kandiyohi, George of Hopkins; Mrs. Leland Olson of Belgrade and Mrs. Nick Olk of Hopkins. There are seven grandchildren.
Surviving brothers and sisters are Robert Hamon of Parkbeg, Sask., Canada; Mrs Emma Davis of Dryden, Ontario, Canada; James R. Hamon of Seattle, Washington; Mrs Lulu Hubbard and John Hamon of St. Paul and Mrs. Mae Gaspar of Eden Valley.

Mrs. Sabina Brown, a well known resident of Union Grove for many years, died Saturday at St. Cloud at the age of nearly 70 years.
She was a child of four years when she accompanied her parents to Eden Valley. On December 24, 1893 she married John G. Brown and became a resident of Union Grove. Mr. Brown died in 1928 and Mrs. Brown continued living on the farm until 1938 when she removed to a small cottage at Lake Koronis.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon of last week at the Crow River Methodist church of which she was a member.
Two daughters and two sons survive: George Brown and Mrs. Nick Olk of Hopkins, Leroy of Kandiyohi and Mrs. Leland Olson of Belgrade.
