Adolph Ernest Saupe was born in Farrar, MO on February 4, 1866, and came to Murphysboro in 1934, where he was engaged in farming. A sister, Mrs. John Schneider of Shawneetown, MO, survived him.
He married Lina Lindner at New Wells, MO in 1893. She survived as well as sons, Fred J. Saupe of Murphysboro, George W. Saupe of Lidgerawood, North Dakota and Otto B. Saupe of Park City, Utah.
The deceased was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church of Murphysboro.
Mr. Saupe died on February 26, 1940 at his rural Murphysboro home. His funeral was held at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. E. H. Bohrer officiated. Meyer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
