Son of William B. and Ruby McAllister, of Hamilton, Ontario.

Lance Sergeant Earl H. McAllister, of Hamilton Ontario, enlisted with the the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's) on September 11, 1942 at the age of 19 years old.
During the Battle of Normandy, serving as a Private, Earl captured 160 German soldiers under the guise of driving a captured German amphibious vehicle. Once the initial combatants surrendered Earl continued his drive and was even fired upon as he was mistaken as the enemy. His actions resulted in various groups of German soldiers surrendering until the number hit 160. He did not give up.
On October 20, 1944, Earl was fighting in Belgium when one of his comrades was wounded by enemy fire. Going to his rescue Lance Sergeant McAllister, was fatally wounded by a sniper's bullet. The Canadian hero was 21 years old at the time of his death
