Mrs. Anna Harriet Kleopfer Sanders, age 91, of Lexington, Indiana, entered this life on September 5, 1922 in Jefferson County Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Byron Fredrick and Kathryn Alantha Wiley Kleopfer. She resided all of her life in Jefferson County and was a 1940 graduate of Hanover High School. Harriet was united in marriage to James Orville Sanders on May 29, 1948 in Scottsburg Indiana. This happy union of fifty-four years was blessed with one son Jim and two daughters; Diane and Kathy. Harriet was employed as a bus driver for the Southwestern School Corporation for nearly eighteen years and during this time enjoyed driving the basketball team to their away games. She was also employed at Temperly General Store in Kent, the U.S. Shoe Factory and the American Can Factory in Austin. Harriet in her spare time enjoyed being an Avon consultant. Harriet was a member of the Jefferson Post No. 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary, Madison VFW Post 1969 Auxiliary and a Democratic Precinct Committeewoman. She was a faithful member of the Kent United Methodist Church. Harriet enjoyed farming, gardening, caning, and cooking Sunday dinners for her family and neighbors. She loved to watch IU basketball. Harriet died on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 9:15 p.m. at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY
Harriet will be missed by her loving daughters, Dianne Hatton and her husband, Eddie of Lexington, Indiana; Kathy Taylor and her husband, Terry of Hanover, Indiana; her loving son, Jim Sanders and his wife, Louane of Lexington, Indiana; her loving grandchildren, Bobby Hatton (Laurie), J.B. Hatton, Joely Mack (Billy), Jared Sanders,, Alinza Deuser (Tyler) and Trace Taylor; her adoring great-grandchildren, Jordan Allen Hatton, Conner Hatton, Colton Chandler, Brady and Jenna Mack; her sister-in-law, Sarah Sanders of Phoenix, Arizona; her cousin, Jake Lowe whom she always referred to as her twin cousin that she was raised with; several other cousins and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron Fredrick and Kathryn Alantha Wiley Kleopfer; her husband of fifty four years, James Orville Sanders, died October 9, 2002; her brothers in law & sisters in law, Ray Sanders; Jewell and Bob Carpenter;Mildred Stuckwisch; and her cousin that she was very proud of, Washington Wiley M.D. who was the U.S. Food and Drug Administrator in 1906.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. by Bro. Joe McKay at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Kent Cemetery in Kent, Indiana

VISITATION
Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
