Bessie C. "Betsy" Bennett of Valparaiso passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014. She was born in Valparaiso to Charles and Elsie (VanWey) Prowant. Betsy had been a Librarian with the Porter County Bookmobile. She enjoyed line dancing where she made many good friends.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon David Bennett; two grandchildren: Jamie Mears and David Mears; two brothers: Clyde (Diane) Prowant of Olympia, WA and Frank "Sonny" (Georgia May) Prowant of Springville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Victoria Mears, in 2000.
