Mrs. Orpha Wood Sprowls, wife of N. Ross Sprowls, of Burnsville, died in her home at 7:40 p. m. Thursday, March 26, 1959, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Sprowls was born in Bristoria, Greene County, March 12, 1893, a daughter of the late David and Rachel Ann Smith Wood.
She was a member of the Windy Gap Presbyterian Church, the Women's Missionary Society, and was a charter member of the West Finley Grange.
Surviving besides her husband, are two brothers, Samuel P. Wood, West Alexander; and John R. Wood, McDonald; several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, a sister and a brother.
SPROWLS - Friends of Mrs. Orpha Wood Sprowls, of Burnsville, who died Thursday, March 26, 1959, will be received after 7 p. m. Friday, March 27, in the Brownlee Funeral Home, Claysville, until 12:30 p. m. Sunday, March 29, when the body will be taken to the Windy Gap Presbyterian Church, where services will be held at 2:30 p. m. in charge of Rev. W. W. Dinsmore, pastor. Burial in West Finley Cemetery.
