James C. Shoop, 81, of 234 Main Street, Ford City died Friday, December 16, 2005 at the Kittanning Care Center, Kittanning Township.James was born Wednesday, June 4, 1924 in Center Valley to the late Carroll Shoop and the late Alvirda ( Lookabaugh) Shoop.He attended the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church of Manor Township; Retired from Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp.in 1986 after working both in W. Leechburg & Bagdad Plants; Member of Ford City V.F.W., American Legion, CU Club, Eagles and Falcons. He enjoyed archery hunting and was an avid woodworker; he also enjoyed bowling. A veteran of WW 2 he served in the U. S. Navy of the ship the U.S.S. Cabot.James is survived by his wife Allene (Mechling) Shoop whom he married June 24, 1947 , 2 Daughters, Joyce Coleman and husband Donald of Kittanning, Tami Toy and husband Rodney of Templeton, 4 Grandchildren, Jennifer Busch, Nicole Coleman-Hammett, Brandon Toy, Brody Toy; 2 Step grandchild, Donald Coleman, Alison Leighton; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Alishia Busch, Samantha Busch; 4 Step great grandchildren- Carley Coleman, Corrin Coleman, Joshua Leighton, Evan LeightonHe was preceded in death by his parents & one brother Harry ShoopFriends will be received at the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Avenue, Ford City on Sunday 2-4, 7-9 . Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 19, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. with his pastor the Rev. Mark Applebee officiating. Internment will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington.
