He was united in marriage with Sarah L. Botts Feb. 14, 1881, at Vail, Iowa, settling on their farm near Deloit, Iowa, where they lived until the year 1917, when they retired from a more active life and moved to their present home in Lake View.
Mr. Childress is survived by his wife and son, Leslie, and three brothers and one sister, namely, Newton Childress of Canton, Missouri; John Milton Childress of Deloit, Iowa; Clayton Childress of Berkley, California; and Mrs. Anna Turner of Plymouth, Illinois.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon, March 10, 1923, at 3 o'clock with the Reverend O.P. Mueller in charge. Interment was made in the Ferguson Cemetery.
