Mr. Temple passed away at his home June 15, 2007. He was born in Regal, Ray County, Missouri, and moved to this area in 1951. He was the son of Erwin Carl Temple and Kathryn (Mansur) Temple, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Temple graduated from Buckner Memorial High School in Buckner, MO, and attended Central Missouri State College. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Shaw Air Force Base. While in the area he met the love of his life, Mildred Cook, and they married in 1953. They lived in Hopkins for fiftyfour years. Mr. Temple was an avid gardener and great supporter of the Carolina Gamecocks.
Mr. Temple is survived by his wife and three sons: James Carl Temple and wife, Debbie, of Lexington, SC, Johnny Edward Temple and wife Cindy of Knoxville, TN, and Tommy Allen Temple of Hopkins, SC. He is also survived by a sister, Beverly Stone of Overland Park, KS; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
