Cathleen Cagney was known as "Casey" while a Freshman at Mar-Ken School in 1955. Sandra Barnett ('55) recalls the while at Mar-Ken School "when not behind books or in the dining room for meals, Casey was ALWAYS on the back of Baby, the palomino. She just loves horses and anytime she was outside and not in a class, she could be found at the stables." Casey was born in Stockton, California and was adopted as the second child of actor James Cagney and his wife Frances. In 1961 she married Jack Thomas, who worked on the family's Chatsworth farm. They had two daughters, Verney and Chistina. Although they divorced in 1981, they remained friends until Casey passed away, at the age of 64, on August 11, 2004 in her Agoura home from complications of cancer.
