Jimmie L. "June Bug" Bynum Jr., 60, of the 1700 block of Spar St., died Oct. 31, 2001, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was born in Southampton County to Jimmie L. Bynum and the late Laura Claud. He was a self-employed construction worker for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Bynum; two daughters, Cathy D. Bynum and Kimberly Gale Long; five sisters, Louise Boyd, Gracie Glast, Diane Jones, Angelia Bynum and Yvonne Bynum; five brothers, James L. Bynum, Joe F. Bynum, Joseph A. Bynum, Steve L. Bynum and Kenneth D. Bynum; two grandchildren, Kalib and Kai; and a host of other family members. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Peter Claud and Nettie Rogers Claud, and Willie Bynum and Virginia Bynum.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Tabor Baptist Church by the Rev. Cole. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements.
