Mrs Buchanan Paterson Dead
About fours years ago, Mrs Buchanan Paterson, of Ramsay, was attacked with la grippe, from which she never fully recovered, although she was able to be around most of the time. Two weeks ago she went to visit her daughter, Mrs Jas Arthur, near Rosebank, and on Sunday last was taken seriously ill, but lingered on till Wednesday, when she quietly dropped into that sleep from which there is no awaking. The deceased was a daughter of the late James Stewart, of Ramsay, and sister to Mr. Robt. Stewart, of the seventh line, and was born in Ramsay, where she spent her whole life. She was married to Mr Buchanan Paterson, who died about fifteen years ago, the union being blessed with four children – one son and three daughters – all of whom are living. The deceased was of a quiet disposition, but will be remembered by many for her kindness of heart and her readiness to aid those who were in trouble of any kind.
