NEILSON, Annie Josephine – In a local hospital on Monday, April 20th, 1953. Annie Josephine Woods, beloved wife of the late George H. Neilson, formerly of Appleton, Ontario and Edmonton, and dear mother of Frank of Westlock, Alberta; Merrill of Cincinnati, Ohio; Alan of Ottawa; Elsie, of Shoal Creek, Alberta and Annie of Cartier, Ontario, in her 87th year. Resting at Tubman's Funeral Home, 403 Richmond Road, where funeral service will be held on Friday, at 2.30 p.m. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.

KINBURN, April 22 - (Special) - A resident here since last November, Mrs George Neilson died in Ottawa Civic Hospital Monday, in her 87th year. Her husband predeceased her 31 years ago. She was a daughter of the late Patrick Woods and his wife Margaret A. Dunfield. She is survived by three sons, Frank W., of Westlock, Alta.; Merrill H., of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Allan H. of Ottawa; two daughters (Elsie), Mrs T.S. Arthurs of Shoal Creek, Alta., and Mrs H.J. Woodworth of Cartier, Ont.; also by 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs William F. Stewart, Austin, Man.; and Mrs J.W. Smith of Kinburn, and one brother, John R. Woods, Ottawa. Mr and Mrs Neilson were married on September 3, 1888, by Rev Hugh Taylor of Pakenham, and they resided on a farm in Ramsay township, Appleton district for 33 years, where Mr Neilson died. Mrs Neilson had spent a number of years with her youngest daughter in Guelph and in Edmonton. The body is at the Tubman Funeral Home, Ottawa. It is expected the funeral will not be held until Friday afternoon, awaiting the arrival of her sons. Interment will be in the family plot, Auld Kirk cemetery, Almonte.
