Mrs James S. Paterson
A life-long resident of Ramsay Township in the person of Mrs Jas S. Paterson, passed peacefully away at her home on the 6th line, on Dec 16th. Deceased's maiden name was Jessie McArthur, daughter of the late Stephen McArthur and his wife, Mary Turner. She was born Aug 6th, 1873, and was married to Jas S. Paterson in 1898, who predeceased her in 1937. Mrs Paterson was a devoted member of Guthrie United Church, Clayton, and worked faithfully for years for the Bible Society. She is survived by two sons, namely, Stewart and Wilbert. One son, Harvey, predeceased her in 1945. Two sisters, Mrs Reuben Giles and Miss Ethel McArthur, and one brother Stephen McArthur, survive. Also to mourn her loss are five grandchildren. The funeral, held from the Comba Funeral Home, on Dec 19th, to the 8th line cemetery, was largely attended. Service was conducted by Rev Mr Hawley and assisted by Rev Mr Reid of Carleton Place. The flower bearers were Gordon Paterson and David Majaury. Pallbearers were Grant Gunn, John James, George Stewart, Ernest Giles, Alex McArthur and Delmer Paterson.
