Ruth Green, 79, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at a local medical center. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Monday, March 31, 2014 at Wylie Baptist Church, with Pastor Donny Harbers, officiating. Burial will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South.
Ruth was born April 28, 1934 in Madley, PA to Marguerite and William Ray Simpson. She was a veteran of the United State Army and was part of WAC in the Korean Conflict. She was a member of Wylie Baptist Church, loved to sing in the choir and taught Sunday school for many years. She loved God, her family, and her country. She was a homemaker and an avid reader.
Preceding her in death were her father; her husband, Jerry W. Green; her nephews, Mark and Matthew Simpson.
She is survived by her mother; her son, Jerry Green; her daughter, Kathy Riffe; her brother Marshall Simpson; her sister-in-law, Patricia Hardt; grandchildren, Heather Leite and Steven Riffe; and great-grandchild, Christian Leite.
Active Pallbearers will include, Juan Rosales, Terry Beall, Scott Swilling, Jason Oakeley, Jerry Walls, Tim Wilson, and Mark Reeder. Honorary Pallbearers are Machele Touchton, Kayleen Rosales, Anita Beall, Dorothy Oakeley, Kelly Farmer, Angela Walls, Gwen Fisher, Louise Mikkelsen, and Annette and Jeanette Johnson.
