Samuel Tilden "Sam" Dunn, age 90, of Randolph, VA, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Sam was born in Charlotte County on January 25, 1924, where, except for his service in the U S Navy during World War II, he spent his 90 years in Scuffletown. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lee and Malissa Vassar Dunn; four sisters; and five brothers. Sam leaves behind his loving wife of sixty-four years, Lavalette Carroll Dunn; a daughter, Beverly Eubank (Alex); three sons, Gary (Barbara), Donald (Emily), and Bruce (Wendy); ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, 6101 Scuffletown Road, Randolph, VA, 23962. The family will receive friends at the residence. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Callie Tucker. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of the arrangements.
