He was born Aug. 12, 1893, in Knox County. He married Evelyn Wright in 1916. She died in 1964.
Surviving are five sons, Wayne L., Robin R. and James J., all of near Galesburg, John B. of Reno, Nev., and William T. of Bettendorf, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Alice) Guenseth and Mrs. Frank (Evelyn) Gould, both of near Galesburg, Mrs. Russell (Pat) Peterson, Little York and Mrs. David (Audrey) Reckman, Moline, 34 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
He farmed all his life and served as Galesburg Township road commissioner for a number of years. He was an Army veteran of World War I.
Funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel, where friends may call Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
