Greensboro - Mrs. Erika Smith, 91, of Greensboro, passed away on Wednesday March 26, 2014 at Golden Living-Starmount.
A graveside service will be 1:30 pm Friday at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Morganton, NC.
Erika was born in on December 11, 1922 a daughter to Ernst Thias and Maria Maxzimuf Thias. She was married to Horace E. Smith who preceded her in death. She was a home maker and a former resident of Weaverville, NC where she and her husband lived for many years prior to her moving to Greensboro.
Surviving is her daughter, Pam Engle of Greensboro and her son, Greg Smith and wife, Ann, of Summerfield, NC. Grandchildren, David Smith and wife, Amanda, of Winterville, Brett Engle and Kevin Engle of Greensboro; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Abigail Smith of Winterville, NC.
